We do not recommend partially coating the inside of a tank because the Gold Sealer Tank Sealer coating will have a tendency to let go where the coating ends.

You can find complete instructions for the Gold Standard Gas Tank Sealer here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/Gold-Standard-Tank-Sealer-Information-Instructions_ep_39-1.html

You can also find the Fix-It Guide which will help you quickly identify the causes of and the recommended solutions for the most common issues that could occur with Tank Sealer here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/fix-it-guide-tank-sealer.html

You can also find Instructional Videos here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/KBS-Videos_ep_90-1.html

You can also find Tank Sealer Flow Charts here: http://www.kbs-coatings.com/Flow-Chart--Tank-Sealer_ep_88-1.html

Hi, I have a 99% solid 500gal diesel tank.

I just cleaned the tank to check for any pits on the bottom
where water was laying. There are several shallow on one end in a area on the bottom center line. Can I coat the tank partially on the bottom ~ 12" off either side of the center line?
~1 gal of KBS?
My concern is if the tank isn't completely encapsilated with KBS,
the fuel will ge behind the coating an cause failure.

Any info, advice, appreciated. Thanks

I have an older aluminum tank for the diesel in my sailboat. Lots of dirt, ETC. as well as some corrosion. As I have the tank out, I was thinking about using a sealer and was wondering if the process would be different for this tank than the standard kit.
