No, I would not recommend wiping off the RustBlast with any solvent based product. You are using the AquaClean or similar water-based product to remove such substances, then reapplying when you wipe down with a solvent. Not recommended.

My main concern was the fish eyes, but once it's cured just test the adhesion. If no fish eye and you have good adhesion, I would not suspect any issues later on. When you say "metho", what exactly do you mean?

I tested some rust blast and wiped it off with metho and then let it dry. I then painted RustSeal over the treated metal and I did not get any fish eyes or any other similar problems. However, I would like to know whether you think the RustSeal has adhered properly under these cirumstances and whehter you think there may be any other problems down the track...??

It's best to use a damp rag, as that will help neutralize the acid in the RustBlast. Then just follow up with a clean dry towel. Let the surface air dry then real well.

I would not use any solvent based cleaners to wipe it down with. If you do, you will probably end up with fish-eyes when you paint the RustSeal on.

Let us know if that helps.

After I was off with water can I then pass over with a damp rag that has metho??

Or can I wipe off the RustBlast directly with a rag and methalated spirits or prepsol, without using water at all??
