Hi guys.
Just wondering about the pot life of RustSeal. I understand that once opened a pot life of around 1 - 2 months can be expected if properly resealed, but what about un-opened cans of RustSeal?
If I purchase cans of RustSeal now and dont end up using them all, what 'shelf life' can I expect from an un-opened can of RustSeal? How long before it would be un-useable? If in fact it does have a use by date as such...
Also, do Aquaklean and Rustblast have limited life spans once opened? How long will the unused products last?
Thanks for your help.

An unopened can of RustSeal can last for over 2 years or longer, as it needs moisture present in the air for the catalyst for curing.
As far as AquaKlean and RustBlast, as long as the cap is replaced tightly and evaporation is kept to a minimum, they too should last for years and lose little if any effectiveness.
What type of project are you working on?

Thanks Jim.
I have an Australian 1969 Holden HT GTS Monaro. In the process of rebuilding the front and rear suspension at the moment, repainting everything with rustseal. The body is 99% rust free and a full bare metal rebuild prob wont happen for 12 months or more but there will be plenty of rustseal thrown around once it starts!
Thanks again for your help.
Dave.
