I am sealing a cycle gas tank which had no visible rust. I used the aquaklean and after drying I then used the rustblast. I turned and sloshed the tank every 5 minutes and the solution was in for a total of 25 minutes. After pouring it out and rinsing well, there appears to be a black residue left inside. Is this normal and acceptable?

As long as it is a light residue, you should be fine.
