  1. Is it possible to use something like 3m's underseal or a any urethane truck bed liner product directly on top of Rust Seal. I'm doing an old VW and would like to use it for the sound deadening qualities. If so what prep do you recommend? Just the usual 80 grit scuffing on cured Rust Seal or something special?

    Thanks
  2. You're correct. Apply a couple coats of RustSeal then either apply the undercoating you want after that second coat dries at least 2 hrs so that it is dry to the touch. Apply that undercoating within the next 4-6 hours and it will bond great. If you wait too long and the RustSeal dries completely...you'll have to scuff with the 80 grit as you said. Take a look at a coating called "LizardSkin". It works great as a sound deadener and heat insulator. http://www.lizardskin.com
