Can I use this system in my engine compartment and on the headers and such so that the exhaust does not make the metal rust anymore? will it withstand heat?
an which would be best for the heat factor? Satin black?

While RustSeal will withstand temperatures of up to 600 degrees F, headers and exhaust manifolds get much hotter, more in the 900 -1000 degree range.
