  1. I doing a frame up restore on a 1977 CJ5. The frame and bottom of tub have some light surface rust, but no body cancer. I have already used a 3500 PSI pressure washer on all components and all road grime and loose particles are now gone. I plan on hitting all surfaces with a wire not wheel in a 4" grinder. Do I really need to use the aqua wash if the pressure washer took off all oil and grease. I planned on just using the etching material and top coat. I also plan on doing the entire undercarriage, diffs, trans, springs etc.. as well as the bottom of the tub and engine compartment. I was going to buy a gallon jug, once this product is exposed to air does it all have to be used at one time or can I close it up and use the rest later.
Thanks for the help. I am so glad I found your site I was just about to spend over double on Por15.
    Thanks
    Kevin
  2. Kevin, The pressure washing should take care of cleaning the surface as you stated. You'll need to remove the loose flaking rust only. No need to grind down to smooth shiny steel.

The RustBlast will dissolve any of the loose "rust dust" and etch the surface, while leaving a light zinc coating. RustSeal is sensitive to moisture, and you should always pour out what you'll use within 20 minutes or so. Always seal the can up as soon as possible. You may want to consider the 4 quart special at $114. This way you're keeping the rest sealed and using only what you need.
