  1. Can you use rest seal on the outer body car metal and then prime and paint afterward? Also, do you have to use a metal etch before using rust seal?
  2. Yes, RustSeal can be used in this manner. It’s recommended to use RustBlast as the metal etch first, rinse or wipe off with a clean damp towel. Let dry thoroughly, then coat with two thin coats of RustSeal. Let the second thin coat of RustSeal dry to the touch (2-3 hrs), then dust on a coat of primer within the next 6-8 hours and you’ll get great adhesion. You can then topcoat as desired.
